Jet
Participates in Color Project
February
14, 2006
The
2006 theme New Haven's outdoor gallery is diversity,
aptly called the Color Project. The artwork
is hand-painted on vinyl banners mounted on
New Haven lampposts. The exhibit will be displayed
throughout much of downtown from early January
through mid-May.
Sponsored
by rePublicArt, the exhibition engages the community
in its design and is expected to attract visitors
to downtown with a walking guide map.

Jet
Cleaners, in celebration of its 50th Anniversary
in 2006, designed and painted a banner using an
element from its 1956 storefront sign...a laundered
shirt. Mike Amore, Jet's owner and his daughter,
Kristen executed the banner using yellow, and
its complementary color, purple, to stay within
the guidelines of the project.
|
 |
| The
banner is displayed at the corner of State and Wall
Streets. To view the outside gallery, it sponsors
and other information, please visit www.colorproject.org.

Cleaners Participates in United Way Day of Caring
November
7 , 2003
During
October, the Regional Workforce Development Board (RWDB),
ran a clothing drive to benefit The New Haven Family

part, Jet Cleaners picked up donated clothes at the
RWDB facility on Ella Grasso Boulevard, and returned
them to its plant for cleaning and pressing. Chris Reardon,
Project Coordinator of RWDB, supervised the drive.
A week
later, Jet Cleaners delivered the cleaned and pressed
